AURICULAR HEMATOMA

- OP OMFS referral
- Wound check in 1-3d
- Bolster removal in ~7d

Dental Follow-up

Urgent Referrals:
- Patients should self schedule through the appointment line (720-900-4038) or MyChart
- Message the dental resident to help facilitate 
- Do NOT send patients to clinic at 8AM without an appointment

Facial cellulitis

Admit to ENT unless significant comorbidities

Neck infection

- If odontogenic source, consult OMFS
- Otherwise, consult ENT

Ocular syphilis

Consult ID and Ophtho if:
- Evidence of syphilis infection, AND
- Visual changes

Orbital wall fracture

- No entrapment: Consult facial trauma
- Entrapment present: Consult facial trauma, ENT, and ophtho

OPTIC Neuritis

- Clinical concern but not confirmed: consult ophtho
- Confirmed diagnosis: consult both ophtho and neuro

Temporal arteritis

If visual symptoms, consult ophtho and admit to medicine
  • Rheum will be consulted while inpatient

If no visual symptoms, initiate steroids and consult Rheum
  • If overnight, may require CDU for Rheum in am
  • If biopsy indicated per Rheum, place OP referral to ENT
  • Steroids should be prescribed for at least two weeks
